The retreat is a full day of mindfulness practice held in silence under the guidance of Kate Skilbeck, Psychologist and Certified Mindfulness Teacher.

Take time out to deepen your practice and refresh your body, heart and mind. This is a wonderful way to slow down, care for yourself and deepen your practice in a nurturing environment with skillful guidance.

Mindfulness practice can help reduce stress, connect us with a strong calm presence and enable us to act skilfully, cooperatively and compassionately. Practicing as a community is extremely supportive and beneficial. It tends to encourage us, enhance present moment awareness and helps us to experience a gentle connectedness which reminds us of our shared humanity.

Please note that you must either be a current student with Kate Skilbeck, or a graduate of the 8 week MBSR program, in order to attend the Day of Mindfulness. If you have completed an MBSR course with a recognised and reputable teacher elsewhere, we may also accept your registration. In this case, please email or phone before you register.

Please bring everything you need including your own lunch and water bottle. There will be fruit, tea, coffee and hot water and a range of milks available for morning tea.

A note about fees

Current MBSR course students participating with Kate do not need to register or pay. If you are not currently enrolled in an MBSR course you will pay the standard fee of $88. If you are a full-time student, pensioner or health care card holder you can pay a reduced price of $66. You will need to first provide evidence of this by texting a copy of your concession card to Kate, on 0408 540 895.
